For intelligence that supports change

Summary:

Absolutely everything that comes from human hands was first born in the form of an idea. Is this truth threatened by the arrival of artificial intelligences that tell us what we need, write texts, show us the way, teach us languages and all with very human characteristics?

It may be that this generation in the job market will experience the changes that seemed impossible in my childhood, when I watched the Jetson's cartoon as a reference for modernity and futurism, but we can be sure of one thing: artificial intelligence will help, but not replace humans, especially when we think about ESG guidelines and the inclusion of diversity of thought and people in leadership positions.

We know that the debate on diversity has been much worse, but the long road to the real inclusion of people with disabilities, women, black women, the LGBTQIAP+ community, indigenous peoples and other unrepresented minority groups in company decision-making is through the use of the technologies we are creating and making progress in popularizing their use.

According to IBGE, 56% people declare themselves black and brown in Brazil, a total of more than 118 million individuals, and partial data from the Census 2022What does this mean? 1.4 million people declare themselves to be indigenous. It means a lot, since for the first time in the country's history there are ministries dedicated to indigenous issues, but even so, the organizations haven't realized what all this representation really means.

Diversity, equity and inclusion and public policies go hand in hand, companies that have well-structured ESG actions will come out ahead, the market scenario is different today and AI is there to make the processes of culture change gradual, fast and significant.

One example is the use of artificial intelligence to identify the presence of diversity in companies, the hierarchical positions that are being occupied and whether the maxim of inclusion is really being taken seriously, in other words, whether people are being part of the company's decision making. Beyond the cliché of flying cars, our ability to imagine needs to be at the service of resolving our relationships and improving coexistence with our planet.

All of this can and is already being monitored outside Brazil by the so-called Diversitytechs, startups that specialize in creating solutions to verify the presence of diversity in the business environment. But when will our market wake up to this reality and work effectively to use high-performance digital tools that demonstrate in real time the need to bring the majority of the Brazilian population, which is excluded from decision-making, to the party?

It is now possible to have real-time demographic results of employees, a maturity index, set target charts and monitor the entire process of analyzing diversity, equity and inclusion.

There are several studies that show the advantages of more diverse teams, and McKinsey & Company's data shows that companies with ethnic and racial diversity are 35% more likely to have revenues above the average for their sector. Brazil, whose people's identity is diversity, can only take so long to understand that our strength lies in our mix of peoples, customs and perceptions. Even today, 94.2% of executive positions belong to white people, according to data from the Ethos Institute, and this only shows that our ability to diversify is great and needs to be taken seriously by companies.

If some of the features of the Jetson family's childhood imagination are already available to everyone, such as online classes, now is the time to bet on the future we want for the next few years, and this will certainly involve policies to include and maintain diversity within companies.
